National Assembly Future Research Institute holds a webinar on the future of US-China technology hegemony and Korea's diplomatic strategy
National Assembly Future Research Institute (President Hyun-gon Kim) International Strategic Research Center will hold an academic webinar on November 9 (Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the theme of “The Future of the Competition for U.S.-China Technology Hegemony and Korea’s Diplomatic Strategy.”
The webinar to be held on this day begins with the opening remarks by Hyun-gon Kim, President of the National Assembly Future Research Institute, and a congratulatory speech by Park Jin, Representative of the National Assembly Global Diplomatic and Security Forum. Conduct presentations and discussions.
The presenters compared and analyzed the perceptions and strategies of the US-China technology hegemony competition in 13 countries and continents (USA, China, Japan, Russia, India, Australia, Germany, EU, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa). Based on this, Korea's diplomatic strategy direction and the role of the parliament will be discussed.
The National Assembly Future Research Institute International Strategic Research Center has set ‘the future of competition for technological hegemony between the US and China’ as its core global agenda for 2021, and has promoted a global joint research project in which 20 domestic and foreign scholars participate.
Cha Jeong-mi, director of the Center for International Strategic Research, said, “This study compares and analyzes the aspects of the US-China technological hegemony competition and the perceptions, prospects, and strategies of major countries in the world in that technology is the key space in the competition for hegemony between the US and China. We tried to predict the future and derive Korea’s diplomatic strategies and tasks,” he said.
